Research
Research is essential to advance creationism and provide a compelling alternative explanation to the evolutionary narrative that shapes our culture. Biblical Creation Trust has a long track record of involvement in research of this kind, including a major field and laboratory investigation of the Coconino Sandstone of Grand Canyon, to test the claim that it was deposited in an ancient desert, and a geophysical study of the "flood heat problem," which sought to quantify the primary sources of heat generated during the worldwide flood and explore possible mechanisms of heat dissipation.
We are currently working with four young researchers on creationist projects with a UK focus:
- A survey of the invasive species of Great Britain as a model for understanding post-flood dispersal and diversification.
- A review of ammonite biostratigraphy, with a focus on the British record, to test a new theory of pre-flood biogeographic zonation.
- An analysis of the geochemistry of garnet-bearing metamorphic rocks in the Scottish Highlands to explore a creationist model of regional metamorphism during the flood.
- A study of some spectacularly folded rocks in north Cornwall to determine the state of lithification of the sediments at the time of folding.
